So viele Kleinigkeiten.
Wer weiß, was sonst noch so kommt.

Somebody mentioned that my last entry didn't exactly have much to do with my immigration plans. Well, what can I say except: true. Reason is that I wanted to write a lot more, but then the posting was already so large with all the pics that I decided to make a second entry. This is it.
Because after we returned to my parents' place after our visit to the zoo, I sat down with my parents and we did a bit of mind-mapping. Everything that I already thought about that needed to be done in regards to immigration and everything my parents came up with. I gotta say, I was quite proud, because I had obviously done a lot of groundwork and there wasn't much left my parents came up with. But they made a few valid points I hadn't thought of yet.
Besides, it's way overdue that I finally tell you all, how happy I am to have such incredible parents. When I told them about my decision to relocate to Cardiff, I didn't quite know what kind of reaction to expect. I knew it wouldn't be a negative one, but the positive feedback was absolutely overwhelming. My mum said she was surprised I hadn't started sending out applications to Cardiff a lot sooner. And my dad - who is rarely a man of many words, sorry dad, but it's the truth ;) - said if Cardiff is the place where I want to live and where I see my best chances for a happy future, then he is completely on my side. After such clear words and the full support of my parents in my bags, I knew there is nothing that would stop me now.
In the meantime the first two applications that I had sent out to Cardiff University already got rejected. But it's okay, I never had high hopes that I'd be lucky with the first applications. So this weekend I sent out several more, did more research on periods of notice, like the German Car Club (called ADAC) and the lovely German TV Licensing Office (called GEZ), and I also kept staring at the huge cardboard boxes that I managed to acquire thanks to my dad. I also sent out the first enquiry to a shipping company. Even if I won't take any of my furniture along, but my parents made a valid point by saying that one large shipping will probably be cheaper than several little ones. And something tells me I will end up with a lot more boxes than I currently expect.
Thankfully I already know someone who can store some of my boxes until they are ready to be shipped to me. Because my parents just don't have that kind of space. I can even store my winter tyres with that friend. After all I want to sell my car (I already checked it's current value), so after they get exchanged with the summer tyres I need to take the winter tyres along.
So many things to do. And especially the stuff here at home... feels like I'm facing 1,000 tasks at once and I'm not quite sure yet where to start. Also, my local friends haven't got a clue yet. Currently I'm trying to find a date for them all to come over so I can let the cat out of the bag. And perhaps they take some of my furniture, who knows. I surely wouldn't complain. If not, there's still the possibility to sell it online, or if all else fails, I will have to throw it out.
Ouf, I guess that's about it so far. This week I'll be working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday morning till late evening. And who knows what else comes up. Which is why I really am trying to use as much time as possible to get the planning done. Soon I will buy large bags where I can throw in old clothes which I will throw into the second-hand container. And I suppose I will also soon start with the "real deal" and make this serious by giving notice for my apartment, meaning I'll leave it on 30 June 2013.
