Also, letzter Eintrag vom 12.05. Mal überlegen, was seither so los war. Also direkt in der Woche im Anschluss war ich immer wieder telefonisch in Gesprächen wegen den drei Jobs. Für Job 2), also der in Cork/Südirland habe ich dann gegen Ende der Woche eine Absage bekommen, weil ich zu wenig Erfahrung im IT-Bereich habe (lass ich mir eingehen) und außerdem ja aus dem juristischen Bereich komme, und nicht so die Erfahrung im Kundenservice habe. Keine Ahnung wie es euch da so geht, aber mir geht diese Logik nicht auf. Zumal die offenbar meinen Lebenslauf nicht wirklich gelesen haben, denn dann wüssten die, dass Jura zwar meine Ausbildung ist, ich aber in allen möglichen anderen Bereichen gearbeitet habe. Aber okay. War ich jetzt nicht soooo traurig drüber. Eigentlich hätte noch ein telefonisches Rollenspiel mit Concentrix wegen dem Job in Belfast stattfinden sollen, aber die hatten dann technische Probleme mit dem Server, so dass meine Email mit Terminvorschlägen zu spät gesehen wurde. Und vergangene Woche war Zirkuswoche, da hatte ich für sowas nicht wirklich Zeit.
Was noch? Ach ja, am 16.05. war ja dieses Webinar von EIMS, der Job, von dem ich von Anfang an so begeistert war! Ich hatte echt schwer mit mir zu kämpfen, nicht schon gleich während der Präsentation immer wieder zu fragen "Wann kann ich anfangen?" Nach dem Webinar hieß es, wenn man noch immer Interesse an einer Position bei EIMS hat, solle man eine kurze, knackige Motivational Email schreiben. Hab ich aber sofort gemacht, des könnt ihr mir glauben. Und direkt im Anschluss hab ich dann gleich noch Charlotte angerufen, die mir ja immer wieder schon viele hilfreiche Tipps für die Bewerbung gegeben hat. Die drückt mir entsprechend die Daumen und fragt auch immer wieder nach dem aktuellen Stand der Dinge. So hat sie zum Beispiel letzte Woche Dienstag angerufen, und wollte wissen, wie mein Gespräch mit EIMS war. Da hab ich ihr dann erzählt, dass EIMS sich noch nicht bei mir gemeldet hat. Was sie gewundert hat, denn EIMS hat meine Telefonnummer bei Charlotte bereits am Freitag zuvor erfragt. Dann scheint Charlotte mal nachgehakt zu haben und EIMS hat Dienstagnachmittag bei mir aufm Handy angerufen, aber prompt während der letzten 30 Minuten des Zirkus-Tages wo alles immer drunter und drüber geht. Hab ich schlichtweg nicht mitbekommen, dass da das Handy gerappelt hat, weil ich mit Kinder verarzten und Küche aufräumen beschäftigt war. Abends dann mit EIMS geemailt, vereinbart, dass ich nochmal am Donnerstag einen Anruf erhalte. Der aber leider nicht kam. Freitag in der Früh bin ich ja dann ab nach Frankfurt zur Supernatural-Convention, so dass ich in der Früh Charlotte nochmal eine Email geschrieben hab, da sie ja unbedingt wissen wollte, wie dieses Gespräch lief. Die muss dann abermals bei EIMS nachgehakt haben, so dass bei mir Freitagvormittag das Handy klingelte. Tja, von wegen Interview, Piotr wollte gleich in das Capability Briefing für einen Test einsteigen. Da ich aber grad keinerlei Internetzugang hatte, haben wir das dann auf 15 Uhr verlegen können, da ich wusste, dass ich da dann in Frankfurt sein werde und mir irgendwie schon Internetzugang schaffen kann. Briefing ging dann für ca. 1 Stunde, danach war mein Kopf übervoll mit Akquise-Info, aber das hab ich dann erst mal ad acta gelegt und die Convention und meinen Geburtstag dort genossen :D (ich sag nur Geburtstagsständchen und -Kuchen von Matt Cohen und Richard Speight Jr. - unvergesslich!!! Und einer der wenigen Momente in denen ich sprachlos war. Wer mich kennt, weiß, diese Momente sind extrem selten ;) )
Sonntagnacht um halb eins (also eigentlich wars schon Montag) bin ich dann wieder daheim angekommen, ab ins Bett und dann vormittags gleich an die Vorbereitung für mein Skript für diesen Test gemacht für den ich das Briefing hatte. Test war dann abends um 17 Uhr, dieses Mal hatte ich Sandra, eine der deutschen Mitarbeiterinnen von EIMS am Telefon. Supernett, bin ich ebenfalls sofort mit klargekommen. Wir haben uns dann recht zügig in das Rollenspiel geschmissen und am Ende wollte sie dann mal wissen, wie es mir so ergangen ist. Ich hab dann gleich eingeräumt, dass ich am Ende zuviel über "meine Firma" geredet habe, was sie bestätigt hatte. Aber da ich ansonsten noch nie Kaltakquise jeglicher Art gemacht habe, konnte ich meine Leistung überhaupt nicht einschätzen. Hab halt versucht, das zur Anwendung zu bringen, was mir Piotr beim Briefing erzählt hat. O-Ton Sandra, beim allerersten Rollenspiel erwartet sie im Leben nicht so eine Leistung, wie die, die ich grad abgeliefert hatte. Klar, natürlich noch Verbesserungs- und Ausbau-fähig, aber fürs allererste Mal "Alle Achtung" hat sie gemeint. Wir haben dann so noch ein bisschen gequatscht und auf einmal war auch eine Stunde schon wieder rum. Am nächsten Morgen, also gestern, klingelt in der Früh um 8:45 mein Handy, ist wieder Piotr dran, der mir mitteilt, dass ich den Test bestanden hätte, und dass nun noch zwei Telefon-Interviews anstehen würden, eines mit ihm, eines mit Richard, dem Operational Manager. Und ob wir die nicht beide gleich noch am selben Tag machen könnten! O_O Da ist mir aber die Kinnlade runtergeklappt. Hab ich natürlich zugesagt, und bin dann schnurstracks zu meinen Eltern gedüst, weil ich die Interviews lieber via Festnetz abhalten wollte als am Handy. Und so hatte ich gestern dann um 13 Uhr mit Piotr und dann um 17 Uhr mit Richard meine Interviews. Das Gespräch mit Piotr lief superrelaxed, und ich unterhalt mich mit dem Kerl auch total gerne, er war in der Regel der von EIMS, der mich immer angerufen hat. Piotr hat auch gemeint, wenn es nach ihm ginge, hätte ich den Job. Aber die Entscheidung läge bei Richard. Das Gespräch mit Richard lief dann... ich kanns nicht beurteilen. Er hat natürlich nichts durchblicken lassen, nur dass er sich nochmal mit Piotr und Sandra zusammensetzen und deren Meinungen einholen wird. Und heute bekomme ich dann Bescheid ob mir der Job angeboten wird, oder nicht. Entsprechend nervös bin ich dann nun doch gerade. Denn ich hab keine Ahnung, wann das Telefon klingeln wird. Bislang hat es das offensichtlich ja noch nicht. TBC...

Way overdue update. Yes, I know, shame on me.
Well, last posting was von 12 May. Let's see what has happened since then. The week straight after was filled with talks on the phone about the three jobs I had last mentioned. In regards to job 2), the one in Cork/South Ireland I got a rejection by the end of the week, because I hardly have experience in the IT area (which I can accept and agree upon) and also, I'm from the law area, so I don't have that much experience in customer service. No idea what you make of it, but the logic in that statement is beyond me. Besides, clearly they didn't really read my CV or else they would have seen that yes, law school is my education, but I have worked in plenty of jobs during which I gained experience in customer service. Oh well, can't say I was toooooo sad about that rejection. In theory there should have been a role-play with Concentrix about the job in Belfast, but they had problems with their server so my email with my suggested dates didn't go through. And last week was circus week, which means I didn't really have any time for this.
What else? Oh yes, on 16 May was the webinar of EIMS, the job I've been so keen about from the start! It was really difficult to not just blurt out during the presentation "When can I start?" After the webinar they said to write a short motivational email if I was still interested in the position. Which I did right away, believe me. Right after that I called Charlotte, the person from the recruitment center who had constantly been in touch with me and given me some very helpful advice in regards to the application. She keeps her fingers crossed for me and constantly keeps calling me, asking me about the current situation. That's why she also called me last week Tuesday and wanted to know how my talk with EIMS had been. I then told her that EIMS hadn't called me yet. Which surprised her, because she said they had called her, asking for my phone number the previous Friday. Seems she had contacted EIMS then, because Tuesday afternoon they called, sadly though during the last 30 minutes of the circus day during which everything is always one huge chaos. So I didn't notice when my phone had been ringing because I had been busy taking care of injured kids and cleaning the kitchen tent. In the evening I emailed with EIMS and we agreed they'd be calling me again on Thursday. Which didn't happen. Friday morning I was leaving for Frankfurt to the Supernatural convention, so I emailed Charlotte before I left, because she kept bugging me about how the talk had been. Guess she contacted EIMS again and while I was on the road the phone rang. Never mind doing an interview, Piotr wanted to go straight into the capability briefing. But given I had no internet access at that moment we agreed to do the briefing at 3 PM beacuse I knew I'd be in Frankfurt by then and would somehow be able to get internet access. Which worked, briefing lasted for about an hour, afterwards my head was filled with stuff about acquisition, but I put that aside and focused on the convention and my birthday :D (all I'm saying is Matt Cohen and Richard Speight Jr singing Happy Birthday for me and handing me a birthday cake - unforgettable!!! And one of those few moments during which I had been speechless. Those of you who know me, know that those moments are indeed very rare ;) )
Sunday night at 12:30 AM (so technically it was already Monday) I finally arrived back home again, went straight to bed and in the morning got immediately working on my script for the test for which I had the briefing on Friday. The capability test was then at 5 PM, this time with Sandra, one of the Germans working at EIMS. Really nice, I immediately got along with her. We started with the role-play really quickly and afterwards she wanted to know how I think I did. I admitted that towards the end I had been talking way too much about "my company", which she confirmed. As for the rest of the test, I had no idea how well or bad I had done, because I had never done this kind of thing before. Sandra then said, that she'd never expect such an incredible performance during the test like the one that I just gave. Sure, there's still a lot of room for improvement, but for the first time she said "Wow". We then chatted a bit and suddenly a full hour had passed. The next morning the phone rang at 8:45 AM, Piotr again, who told me that I had passed my test and that the next and last step of my recruitment process were two interviews. One with him, one with Richard, the Operational Manager. And he asked whether I could do both that same day! O_O My jaw dropped. Of course I agreed and quickly drove over to my parents' so I could do the interviews on a landline. I had my first interview with Piotr at 1 PM and then the one with Richard at 5 PM. The talk with Piotr went super relaxed, and in general I can say I like talking to the guy, because he is usually the one who called me from EIMS. Piotr said at the end that if it were up to him, I'd be offered the job, but that decision is Richard's. The interview with Richard went... I have no idea. He didn't give me any hints at all, only said at the end that he'd get back together with Sandra and Piotr to ask their opinions. And I'd be informed today whether I'd be offered the job, or not. Obviously I'm quite nervous right now, because I have no idea when the phone might be ringing. So far it hasn't. TBC...
